Roasting and brewing the best coffees we can find, the DoubleShot is the instigator of change and illuminator of taste.
I'm Anna Berry with Unscripted speaking with roast master Brian Franklin of the Double Shot coffee company. Thank you. So there are a hundred and fifty million Americans who drink on average three cups of coffee a day. Now Brian you seem to have very strong opinions about how we drink our coffee. So what are we doing wrong? What are you doing? What are we doing wrong? What's wrong with that? Well there's nothing wrong with it. In fact I encourage you to put cream in your coffee if it's not good coffee. I don'think I'm a snob. I am what I am. I'm not a snob because the reason I started this company was because I discovered that there's this amazing thing that can happen with coffee and a cup and I wanted as many people as I can to experience that and to appreciate what it is. So I'm here to share it. So what is your ideal cup of coffee? How do you Well In fact I drink coffee really for two different purposes. One is sort of a technical and so I drink coffee a lot of times where I'm trying to analyze the cup but kind of washing over that is this enjoyment of just drinking a delicious cup of coffee. I love it. Some people it can be an inspiring piece of music, some people it can be a beautiful piece of art or hugging your child but for you it's coffee. Right. You have strict guidelines on how you make it and then you also have your very particular and how you drink it. It has to be cared for every step along the way in order for it to be great. So it's really difficult to make a cup of coffee. But when you don't want to cloud it up by putting other things You used to not allow that. You do have cream now. We've always had it. We've just discouraged it always. What about frothing some soy milk? We do that also. But the idea is to bring people in to try to get them to drink the coffee how they want to drink the coffee but influence them slowly along the way to drink the coffee as a pure beverage.
