Remedy Coffee

The Moxlife Church is a local church here in town and they were looking for a place, a building to find that they wanted to be something that throughout the week it would be a part of the community to be used for something more than just sitting empty Monday to Saturday. So Moxlife Church actually is the brainchild behind Remedy Coffee. They opened it up and just saw this building and knew it was perfect for a coffee shop. So came in and kind of got the front set up and then brought me in and here we go. I'm a coffee fanatic, a coffee freak and so one of the most exciting parts about Remedy for me has been able to just let loose in my coffee passions. So one thing that we really highlight is we'll bring in single origin coffees and serve them up for customers when they want them in a single serve kind of way. So we have the French press and we have the Chemex pour over methods and both of those are ways for us to take a very unique distinctive coffee and just brew it in a way that brings all of its representation to the customer in a very personal way. We can just hand out one 16 ounce cup just for you, brewed fresh that minute. The Chemex pour over is one of our funnest ways. It's a glass beaker created by Chemex actually and you put a paper filter in it and slowly pour water over it and it just really evenly extracts all of the elements of that coffee leaving you a sweet representation of each origin. Remedy buys all of our coffee and teas actually from Intelligencia. They're based out of Chicago and they just do an amazing job. Not only is it the best coffee I've ever tasted but they're just really ethical. They do what's called direct trade coffees and teas so that goes to they visit the farms that they're on. They're making sure that there's economic transparency of what's paid not only to the exporter but to the farm and to the farmers and to each hand that's involved in the process. But yeah, it comes from Chicago. We're all about the community. I think that's our vision. That's why we're here is for this community and so I think the first thing we do is we're here to help our community by serving amazing coffee. We're here to help our community by bringing in local goods and pastries and ethically bought coffee where farmers are getting money and we want to serve it really well and we want it to be a coffee shop of excellence. It's definitely about the coffee here but I think even tr We want to be here to be a safe place for people. We want to be here to be a place that's for our community and so after tax all of our proceeds are going back into the community to the needy to Peerdsley Farm to try one to a lot of different places and that's really exciting to us that we really feel
