And there is an event that is happening tomorrow that aims to support small businesses. It's called Shop the Smalls and here to tell us more about it is Yvonne Watson from Detroit SIP. Well How are you today? I'm doing great. Glad to have you here. So obviously So how did you come up with this idea? Well I think it's important to support small businesses. I myself have been guilty of getting excited about Black Friday and what Macy's or Target has. But now that I am a small business owner myself and having gone through this journey I see just how important it is for us to invest in our local community and the amount of work that it takes to have a small business. So I think we owe it to small businesses to invest in them. Yeah and we know that those small businesses are the heartbeat of America. They keep us going and you talked about you starting up a small business. Detroit SIP. Tell us about that. Is this the mug that you brought here with us as well? Yes it is. Detroit SIP is one of my dreams come true. It is a coffee shop located in Northwest Detroit on Six Mile. Those of us that are familiar with the West Side between Livernois and Wyoming and we are the community's coffee shop. Okay great. We're seeing some video there from that. Thank you for having that dream and starting that because that's an inspiration for people there in itself. What are you hoping that people get out of coming to this event? Being exposed to these other small businesses? I think it's important to see just how many talented people there are and we learn through COVID that we need to have more than one stream of revenue because anything can dry up at any given time and it also helped us to tap into our own gifts and figure out what it is that we Put you in the mindset of a many eastern market so that's what we'll be focusing on tomorrow. Awesome and we saw that information there. We'll have that for you again and also on our website cbistrotroit. com. What are some of the stores that will be there for people to be able to shop? So we'll have sweet treats. One of our regulars, the Detroit Cocoa Bar. The coffee shop itself will be open. We will have skincare products from Miss B's Beauty. We will have candles from Sunshine Crafted and to Miko Joy. There are so many vendors. I don't want to leave anyone out but there will be about 12 to 15 of that and we also have more men this time. I'm excited to say there will not just be women entrepreneurs. There will be a few men who are also entrepreneurs and business owners that will be selling their products tomorrow. What does that mean to you? Every day that door opens that people from the community whether it's from the business community whether it's the residents or people that are just visiting the students because we have UED that's right there. We have Detroit Public School. We have Mary Grove High School bringing all of those pieces together because we are all neighbors and we don't all know each other so I think it's important that we all get to come together under one roof. Yeah that is so great. Let'see that information again so that people know that they can go here and shop the Smalls. It's happening tomorrow starting at 11 6 p. m. is going to be the end time. Lots of great businesses showcasing their merchandise and you can find unique stuff that you can't find anywhere else. So thank you again for joining us and congratulations to you for having a dream and seeing it through. We wish you all the best. Well thank you.
