Fine handmade goods from good friends near and far. The shop is a rotating selection of ready-to-enjoy small batch food, handmade functional goods for the home and body, and a few gifts. Most of the makers in my shop and most of your favorite local craftsmen have been in business 4 years or less. Thank you to everyone who has bought something handmade over the last few years! FAQs: Q: You’re a general store. Do you sell flour and oats? A: Good question, we don’t sell flour, but we do sell beautifully illustrated screen-printed flour sack tea towels. This is a modern take on a general store with a few references to the past. However, if you’re focus is like mine on living a well-crafted life, our products will for sure become some of your staples. General stores were also gathering places for the community. That tradition is definitely a part the shop, whether it’s neighborhood customers stopping in to chat and grab a soda, or 10 new friends taking a class together, or supporting a nationwide community of hard-working craftsmen. Q: Why Hey Rooster? A: Why would you say good morning, when you can say “heeeeey, rooooster!”? I guess that’s what my grandfather, Mr. Elton Ezell Teasley, thought because that’s what he used to say to us. It made me laugh and still does and I thought it might have the same effect on you. Q: Who are you? A: I’m Courtney Webb, proud Nashville native, New Orleans trained architect, and Brooklyn trained entrepreneur. I design and make a line of jewelry and accessories that has been in boutiques and museum shops including The Museum of Arts and Design, The National Building Museum, The Barnes Foundation, and The US National Archives to name a few. I was also a member and director of the EtsyNY street team. I have sold at nearly every market in New York including the Brooklyn Flea, DeKalb Market, the Hester Street Fair, Columbus Circle Holiday Market, Renegade Craft Fair, Bust Craftacular, the Etsy NY Handmade Cavalcades, and our summer long team pop-up shops at Celebrate Brooklyn! and Governor’s Island. Through all these markets and wholesale shows, I’ve become part of such a wonderful community of talented makers and craftsmen, not just in NY, but across the country including at home in Nashville. Everything in the store is made with a lot of thought, love, hard work, skill, and craft and I’m proud to share it with you.
