Jennifer's Hallmark has been in Evansville for decades but today the small business announced it's closing its doors for good. I witness news Jessica Wimson is in Evansville on the east side with the latest. Jessica? For 44 years customers have flocked here to Jennifer's Hallmark buying everything from knickknacks to cards to everything in between but now today they announced that after over four decades of joy and these aisles they're officially closing their doors. Hustle and bustle has filled this little shop of treasures when I was a for over four decades. Saturday was our 44th anniversary so we've been here 44 years in two days but soon the doors at Jennifer's Hallmark will close for good. We've weathered it for about 18 months and it was like no Owner Penny Gambrill says small business struggles are growing as more customers opt to add to their cart with a click. This past Christmas it was unreal. People would come in and they would see something and they would say oh well I bought that online And as Evansville says goodbye to yet another small business it's those 44 years of memories Penny and her patrons say they'll hold on to. People have allowed me into their lives and a lot of those people have been in here this morning so I'm gonna miss those folks. That's a piece of a 60. And Penny also tells me that one of the contributing factors to their closing are suppliers now offering their products in stores
