The name A-plus-a-plus-a means Ashley Andrea Arianna. Too cool for hugging, never. With our studio, we really value working with communities. We want to invite as many of the community members or those impacted to the table throughout the process. We believe that the people who use our projects should have a say in the design. And then there's also this element of joy that we It's fun! The healing spaces were created through a partnership with the Youth Design Center and the Brownsville Community Justice Center. BCJC had already been thinking about these public space activators that would travel around the neighborhood and occupy spaces that had been transgressed through gun violence. We felt it was very important that the idea of healing came from the voices of what we call our talks about what's the mood that you think is going to be created within this. There were conversations over So we ended up going with a cool color palette, so blues and purples, a little bit of teals. We made this traveling trailer where the inside is really soft. You can lie down and you can When we activated it in the plaza, we gave the community these boxing gloves. We thought about letting the people from Brownsville paint it, so a way that we thought about doing it was just That felt really good. Went a lot of places all over Brownsville and I feel I think the well-designed life to me as a designer is really about being able to feel There is no right or wrong way to do it.
