680 Lakeshore Drive, once known as the American Furniture Mart, is a landmark here overlooking the water. Enormous substantial building that's been divided into several groups of condos, retail, and other uses. And it's known very well for its substance, for its heaviness, darkness, its rich ornate facade. And I'm using those adjectives intentionally because you'll see a very sharp contrast when we go into a light, open, and airy condo on the 11th floor. Let's go take a look at it. So then we get to t As I said, much lighter, more open. Here in t But that's not the kind of light I was promising. Let's talk about daylight. So then we pass through the foyer into there's a wall of windows looking out toward the lake. And to me, today is a great day to see t It's a little dim outside, but what that means is that the color scheme in here and the water sort of blend together. And it feels as if the lake is part of my living room, w T But what they did here is open it up so you've got three nodes of living. You've got the formal living here, then you have more of a study or family room on the other side sharing that view. And then here beneath the circular soffit, you get t So we get all of our living in one space. Everybody gets to get all that daylight and all that view. Off to the side is a kitchen. T It also, as I understand, was pushed back from where the developer would have put it so you could get more living space back here. And what they've got is t I am in love with the steel cabinets above, the brushed finish, so sleek. And then there's a darker wood on much of the other cabinetry. Real nice, crisp kitchen that fits right into t You have three bedrooms. There are actually two bedrooms and a den, though the den could easily be used as a bedroom. That's toward the back, be But you come out to the two front bedrooms. The master, w There's a lot of closet space. You step up to a very nice, very crisp contemporary vanity. And then the second bedroom next to that also has windows out to the lake. It's now used as a den, but it's got a Murphy bed, so it can be used as a guest room or, of course, could be converted into an actual bedroom. And if you were to take away that Murphy bed, you just add to the ample storage that's already in that room. That room is filled with closets. Everywhere we look here, there are closets. There's a wine closet in the living room. There is an enormous amount of space for storage in the bathrooms, the hallways, and all of the bedrooms. And one small piece of extra space that I love.
