Well, com. My name'steve, and I'm one of the owners, my wife and I. And it is a rental property that we use for vacation rentals. It's three bedroom, three bathroom. As you can see, it's an absolutely gorgeous place. I mean, very rustic. It's very south of France, rustic Italy. I've had lots of people give comments that way. So I have to take them to the wood. We're just getting ready again for the next rental season after COVID. We've found a lot of people coming back, we've been waiting quite a w It's been seven months since we've been locked down here. So during that time, we've just made some upgrades, some repairs, and we're doing the roof. The climate here in the Yucatan is extremely extreme. You can go from what we just asked, which was from the last two months, was h So it takes a real beating on all the furniture that we have in the house, and around the house. We find now that the best t If somet But the traditional t But I did find somet I found it online. My brother also mentioned it, and it's kind of an old, I don't want to say wise tale, but it's an old technique of maintaining wood outdoor, T So anyt You can see all the different, the dark shades in t Well, that was getting extremely dry. Water was seeping in. It'slowly rotting. So I'm just trying to do somet So this is what the door would look Make sure you put somet It's going to get messy. This will be black, just But it's really absorbing all the best parts of these products that are mixed together. Again, here are mixed in Mexico. So there's paint t So you use one liter of paint t I had to order any because you can't get it here anymore, but it is the boiled linseed oil. I'm not selling anyt T I got it ordered on Amazon. And you use one full liter of t Again, I had a really tough time trying to find that here. So I had to order it online, and it's a minim So six one-pound packages. So if you can see, it's almost So you use one full liter, one quarter liter, and you cut off a quarter of t Put it inside. Put some boiling water on your stove, put the tin with the wax in it, and use a chopstick or something And once it melts, then you combine all these three ingredients together in a bucket. And you're going to have to continue to stir t Because if it's not hot enough, because it does have to be warm to melt the wax and keep the wax melted. So you apply t So, and it draws it all the way through into the wood, instead of just being on the surface, The thinner is so thin that it helps extract that into the wood, or penetrate it into the wood completely, into the grains, especially those that are, And when it's dry, you can actually feel there's kind of a wax finish to it. So the wax and the linseed oil both combine to completely keep water out. So we just refinished, had all of our kitchen doors down, w But these are the, we did four sets. And on the inside, there'sophie, on the inside, we did keep it with the polyurethane gloss finish, just because it looks really nice inside, but polyurethane just can'take the h So I've had them just stain it to match the old color that we had originally. These are original doors from the house, w Now the bottom part from here down is no longer the 100-year-old that's new, but up above is, and they did a pretty good job of restoring them.
