We're in Gainesville at the Big Bear Cafe speaking with Chad Bond, the proprietor. Chad, why don't you tell our viewers how the Big Bear Cafe got started? Well, in 1936, this restaurant opened originally, and of course I'm not old enough to remember that, but everyone that does remember told me that the Big Bear has always had the best barbecue sandwiches and fried chicken hamburgers anywhere in town. And so I'm trying to kind of recreate that along with some healthy home cooking and vegetables and whatnot, whatever goes along. Well, I cannot wait to see your menu, so let's go see what you have. This is our barbecue plate. It's a chopped barbecue pork, it's all hickory smoked, homemade coleslaw, and my grandmother's run-to-stee recipe. This is our homemade chicken and d It's all white, fresh chicken, fried okra, green beans, cornbread, just a nice country meal. This is our double cheeseburger. This is fresh ground beef. It's delivered daily. It's a white American Swiss cheese, and this is one of our most favorite dishes here at the Big Bear. This is our 10 ounce haddock filet. This is a lot of meal. We've got it plated with our fresh cut french fries, which of course we don't fry anything in processed oils here. We try to stay as healthy as we can. This is one of the things we're famous for. It's a hickory smoked barbecue sandwich and fresh french fries. Of course, we've got a really broad menu, something for everybody. Don't forget about my breakfast. But yeah, barbecue, this is what I do the best. Been doing it for 26 years. Okay, great. Well, this sandwich alone is worth the trip to the Big Bear Cafe.
