Serving coffee is what we do, caring for people is why we do it.
To serve coffee is to share a conversation, a space and an experience. At Thatcher’s Coffee, we aim to do just that. We opened our doors in 2010, and we opened a small kiosk in the Vancouver Community Library in 2011. In the following years, we have cultivated a community space with great coffee and pastries, genuinely kind service, and a welcoming environment. In June of 2016, Jamie officially became the sole-member owner of Thatcher’s Coffee. This marked an exciting chapter in the history of Thatcher’s. We introduced a handful of new delicious, local products. We also began to solidify a collective set of values that would act as the foundation of how we do business, how we treat our customers, and how we treat each other. At the end of the day, our foundational values all come down to kindness and hospitality. We are passionate about treating our customers and our coworkers with compassion, empathy, and respect. We strive to create an atmosphere that is warm and welcoming - this encompasses everything from the way we greet a customer when they walk through our door, the presentation of the products that we serve, the clean and orderly environment, the smell of coffee and pastries, and the sense of comfort that we cultivate. We love our community and we love what we do.
Our business is Thatcher's Coffee. We have a coffee shop with a wonderful environment. We have coffee, we bake pastries in the house, make most of our sauces and syrups from scratch, but we really focus on creating a positive environment that's inclusive and welcoming for everybody and really try to facilitate genuine h One of the biggest changes was introducing online ordering, which were pretty hesitant to do before, and it's actually worked out to be wonderful and pretty efficient. Another change is just constantly adapting to whatever regulations there are and to respond to that. What you are choosing to support is a vote, the kind of community you want to live in, the community you want to see, so your dollars you're spending are really voting with your dollars, so who you want to see survive and what you want to see around you. So it's incredibly vital and it makes such a difference. Thank you.
