The Kind Coffee Company

I have the strongest freshest coffee in Syracuse. My name is Doug Nicolaisen. This is the kind coffee company on the 715 West Fayette Street. I started roasting coffee in 1996 and I'd never done it before and did a lot of homework. They've been roasting coffee for 900 years. The technology is not the big important thing. They've done it on stoves, they've done it over open fires, in dr The main thing is, is garbage in, garbage out. Most of the coffee that's out there, that's exchange grape. I only get the very top specialty grape coffee. It should be drinkable black. If it's not drinkable black, it's horrible coffee. So that's the test of good coffee. The very first pound I sold, the gentleman came back and said it was the best Kenyan coffee he'd ever had. I met Doug through the warehouse gallery doing an art show there. Instead of going downtown to get coffee, I'd swing by here and it's more personal. Also better coffee. One of the drawbacks of being the owner all the way down to the janitor is if I don't show up for work, the business doesn't open. I do have customers that will leave angry notes on the door threatening my life. I miss another day with their coffee. I have to go to work and make coffee so other people have coffee and go to work. And the benefits of owning a coffee shop, I'm not sure yet. I'm waiting to find out. The main thing I'm interested in is the best coffee possible. And that's what I strive for.
