Roy's Station Coffee & Teas

We offer a variety of delicious specialties. Enjoy to know our menu.

Roy's Station is home to a coffee shop where our grandpa Roy's Mobil gas station was, in the heart of San Jose's Japantown. We are grateful for all the kind words and support, and welcome you to stop on in for a hot cup of Joseph!

The Muro Tsunne family purchased the Cornelot in the late 1940s after they were released from the internment camps of World War II. Roy and his two sisters and brother all ran this gas station together. By the 1960s, Roy was running the station by himself until he retired in 1990. From then on, his children and grandkids ran the station for him. In 2007, the shop went through some renovations and reopened in 2009 as a coffee shop. Roy's mobile gas station turned into Roy'station coffee and tea. But the station has been serving these hot beverages to the community since. So, originally this video was supposed to be a hidden gem type of video. When I started doing research on Roy'station, I found out on their Facebook that Roy Muro Tsunne passed away earlier this spring. So I do want to dedicate this video to Roy and his family for serving their community for over 70 years. I also wanted to share my own personal experience with the coffee shop. It was s By the time that we decided to stop for lunch, unfortunately, most of the restaurants around the neighborhood already closed for their lunch hours. It was around the 2 o'clock hour mark. The only place that was open was Roy'station as well as the local supermarket. So when went into Roy'station, we looked at their menu and didn't really see anything we So we asked the cashier lady if we can go over to the magia market, grab something to eat, come back here and buy some drinks and have lunch at their place. And she immediately said no problem, go for it. Now for most establishments However, you usually would get the vibe from the person that they would rather you not do something However, I didn't feel any of that vibe from this lady. So it was really comfortable just bringing in outside food and having a few drinks at their place. So the kid and I had a really relaxing meal and we enjoyed the facility in Amaya. They're amazing decor. The inside of their cafe is so cute. I love all the little knickknacks around the tables and I also love all of the retro pieces that they kept from the gas station. So it's really nice just walking around as well as their little So that is it for this video. I hope you enjoyed it. If you did, don't forget to give me a th And if you haven't subscribed yet, go ahead and hit that subscribe button to see future videos of mine. And yeah, thank Bye guys. Happy wandering.
