Edibles range from cakes, brownies, Muffins, Ice Cream (seasonal) and Pies.(Homemade Whipped Cream) There are also salads and wraps. Drinks include French and Italian sodas, Lattes, Smoothies, Cappuccinos, Brews, OJ, Bottled Waters and Organic Tea.
Well, after 18 years in business, Equalground's Coffee House is now under new ownership. Today was the coffee shop'soft open where folks had the chance to come in and check out some of the modifications currently underway. News 8 spoke with the new owner, Monika Chapman, who shares a little bit about the history of the cafe and her hopes for the future. So, it was a running cafe since 2006 from Assemblyman Harry Bronson and his husband John. And I literally just took over and all I had to do was turn the key and I didn't have to teach this baby how to walk. So that was exciting to purchase a business that was already a staple in the community. The soft open is really for me just to fill the windows with plants and new life for the community to actually come in because everyone sees me on the news and they see the announcement that I purchased. So I just wanted them to kind of get familiar with my face, get familiar with the small change that we have made currently. Nice to meet you too. The official grand opening will take place officially next month.
