the and when three friends heard their favorite cafe was up for sale, they got together and bought it. They wanted the cafe to stay a pillar in the community and right now it's more than that. As the saying goes, location, location, location. So when my husband and I were thinking about, I remember just being a customer prior to COVID and being able to sit here, meet with people. Ula Cafe is a landmark in Jamaica Plain. Beth and Marvin, part of the community, are with Kelly, who is a trained chef and this was a go. I'm happy. I'm genuinely happy that we're able to cook really good food and bring people together, serve really good beverages and do other things in the community. Now this cafe has an old-time coffee house feel, local paintings on the wall. They have open mic nights. It's more of a meeting place for people in the community to come in and talk about what's going on. It's crazy how just a simple cup of coffee, it's a place where you can get a coffee, you can get a coffee and you can get a coffee and a simple cup of coffee sitting down with a friend or even a stranger that becomes a friend, just can impacts our lives in a positive way. Well, the cafe also has this, a paid forward wall, just a way of making sure no one leaves, hungry or thirsty. We've had people come in who didn't even know about the paid forward wall, who said, hey, my electricity was turned off. I just want to grab something. I have $5, what can I buy? Our staff will say, keep your money. to come here and they want to help out. That's why the pay forward wall is just so amazing, right? Because people are trying to find ways where they can give back. Oh, that's great. When I was there, there was a lady who walked in and said she didn't have any money. And I said to her, I don't know, they got something for you. Oh, awesome. And she was What a good idea. It was great. It was, it was so It happened. And I was, I was so impressed by the wall. Yeah.
