Coffee to-go at Fort Monroe!
Firehouse Coffee is located on the beautiful historic Fort Monroe within the U. S. Army's first ever fire station. Walking around the building is an experience in and of itself. We've got photos from when the base was active, helmets that's been donated from chiefs of the surrounding cities, toys for kids to play with, and trinkets and antiques all over the place. Being located on this historic base, we've got a lot of tourists. It brings in so much diversity, it's beautiful. Some of the best times are when we have multiple different languages at one time in the shop, and then you have people that are just from all over, you can't imagine. When you come to Firehouse, expect to see the doors open, families and dogs, people laughing. We're trying to create an atmosphere where everyone is welcome and where people aren't afraid to share ideas with each other, chit chat and meet someone new. At Firehouse, we make specialty coffee, so it is small batch, locally roasted, details are paid attention to, but we're not coffee snoms here. We make great coffee, but we're not going to judge you for one and a half vanilla latte. It tastes good. Customer favorites are raspberry white chocolate has been a big hit, and our lavender vanilla latte. Everyone really We're kind of We have smoothies, breakfast sandwiches, deli sandwiches. The food is surprisingly delicious. Everyone loves our chicken salad sandwich, which is not too super common at a coffee shop. We do have breakfast sandwiches, we serve them all day. In addition to our great sandwiches, we also have ice cream, which everyone loves. We're right next to the beach, so perfect afternoon treat after hitting the beach. I think we are known for big ice cream scoops. I try to scoop it really, really big. You want kids' eyes to j I've known Patrick since were five years old, and being able to work with my best friend that I grew up with has been super rewarding. Our close relationship has allowed us to create a culture of fun in the workplace. Long time friends, unexpected situation, took advantage of it, and trying to make the most out of it.
