Hi, my name is Serene and I'm the owner of Eight Cakes, a cake shop here in East Village. We are a woman-owned business and so far we are all a team of women. Cakes in general are a great way to express your artistic side. So that's kind of how it started in my kitchen and then I kind of cut the bug and I wanted to do this every day and that's kind of how Eight Cakes started. Makes my heart sing when the girls are in the back and they're What made me decide to open up Eight Cakes was really when I started having that craving of baking on a daily basis and I was trying to figure out how I can do that and so one day I just decided okay I'm gonna try to find a location and it all kind of started from there. There's that joy when you see your customer holding their cake and they're extremely happy with it.
