Tinta Y Café

A Coffee House y Más

Tinta y Cafe, your neighborhood coffee house, stands between two different worlds: Little Havana and Brickell.

Beach Bites has me stopping at Miami. This town offers just about every kind of cuisine in the book, but all I'm craving is a big ol' juicy sandwich. So when my good friend Bobby Flake called me up and said he just had to take me for the best Cuban sandwich in all of Miami, of course I said yes. I'm in Little Havana at Tinta e Cafe, where they're serving up Cuban sandwiches with a modern twist. I can't wait to try this. This is Katie going on. Hi, Katie. Nice to meet you. This girl can eat anybody under the table. Oh, wow. And she's not afraid, OK? I do have a big appetite. So here's what we want, OK? We want the full Tinta experience here. I got two of the best sandwiches on the menu. So what do they are? Well, first we got the patria, which is your art take on a Cuban sandwich. We And what would you normally use? Cuban sandwich is supposed to be on Cuban bread, which is more airy bread. But we do it on a French baguette because we make the port here. We add ham straight from the leg, mortadella, and Swiss cheats. And I'm going to fix that. We're using mortadella. That's our little twist to it. It's a poem. So you use Dijon mustard. And classically, it wouldn't be Dijon, right? Classically, they use the yellow American mustard. And what's the second one? The second sandwich would be the guajito. Chicken, sauteed and onion, Swiss cheats, then art, mojo de la gaza, which is that inspired by the classic Cuban? It is. Delicious. We're going to love it. Let's go. Let's go. I have to tell you that every time I come to Miami, I Do you Look at my skin. Even the elephant. I mean, But the thing about it is like, you give me a great Wow, look at these sandwiches. Here we go, guys. So here we have the patria on the left and the guajito. Oh, it'so nice and warm. That's crazy good. The thing I love about this is it's not over stuffed. This is so good. It has the caramelized onions, and the chicken's really nicely spiced. So good. The swish. All right. Mm. Mm. Pickle is so good with the pork. The cacao's right there. Cheese is nice and melted. That bread's all buttery and toasted. Mm. Mm. I told you she doesn't play. I really It reminds me of what I'm looking for in a classic h Well, I'm so glad we did this. It's always good to see you. Thanks. Love you. Make sure you get your sunscreen on. I will. I'll be on the beach a lot. I'll see you back in New York. Looking forward to it. Ha.
