We're not trying to be a homeless shelter. We're not trying to be a food bank. We'really here to help people that are in crisis. My name is Shannon Greer and I am the owner of Cadence Coffee Company. We started almost eight years ago. Our goal was to be a quality coffee company here in the city of Chattanooga, but not just about coffee, but really focusing on building a strong sense of community with our customers and neighbors and businesses around, but also using that strong sense of community to help effect change for the positive in people's lives. Knowing that there's a high level of poverty in this city, knowing that there's an issue of homelessness, and we just felt I was told I could get a free cup of coffee if they had sticker up on the wall for pay it forward, and I went in there to get a cup of coffee and light the atmosphere. So I started going back and I found out they had a church there, and I started going to the church and just meeting people that go there and kept me going back. I was in there one morning. It was after a night sleeping under a bridge, and my book bag got stolen right out from beside my head, and it had my military Bible in it. I went in to Caden's coffee the next morning, kind of b I got a cup of coffee and went to put cream and sugar in it, and there was a girl sitting there. It looked I just started talking to her. I just thought she just asked me how it was going, and I told her what had happened the night before. She certainly encouraged me, and I just met her at one time. And the day or two I went back in. I came in one morning and Amy told me, hey, somebody left you something here. And I was And she brought out a bag, and I had a brand new military Bible. So that's the kind of people that go into Caden's coffee. Caden's done it, giving me direction, giving me hope, giving me friendship, and they got good coffee and food. What more can you ask from a place that you're going and have a cup of coffee?
