This is Open Eye Cafe located at 101 South Greensboro Street in Carbrew. Since 1999 this local spot has been serving a special blend of coffee by owner Scott Connery. Scott, a former biochemist, travels the world establishing direct relationships with farmers, assisting them with their needs thus creating a business of true sustainability. And it shows in their product. The latte I ordered was very good, fresh aroma, robust flavors, and well eye-opening. They serve more than just coffee. There's a variety of tea, beer, and wine as well. And you can pick up their special blends of the counter and make your own coffee at home. Ample seating in the cafe and a spacious patio for the nicer weather or you can sit back there during the winter. It is heated. It's inviting and social yet quiet and private at the same time. It's perfect for studying a friendly meet-up or to catch up on a good book. I will be back soon. I might even be a regular. The coffee is that good.
