Gresham Liquor Store

A pickup truck crashes into the front of a Gresham store this afternoon and did some major damage. This happened at the Rockwood liquor store up 181st in Burnside. Our reporter Jenny Hansen gives us a look at the damage and explains how it happened. Well, check out the damage that was left behind after a pickup truck smashed through the front entrance of the Rockwood liquor store. In fact, right now, the owners and employees inside the store can't even leave because this is a weight bearing beam that was damaged in the crash. The driver of the pickup that crashed into the store about one o'clock today says he thought the curb would stop his truck. When I realized the curb was near, it was too late. The curb slopes down in front of the store and even at a slow speed, James's truck crashed through the storefront doing some major damage and just about everyone in the area heard it. It was a loud crash. It was loud. It scared everybody that was in Alexander's. Rockwood's owner tells us a customer had just been in the lobby area before the crash, but no one was hurt. In fact, James's truck had next to no damage. Yeah, many things started. They praised the business. Gresham police responded and say they didn'take it him that it appeared to be really just an accident. And yes, James does have insurance. They got my insurance. So right now, after I clean the bags off, I'm going to take my own copy to the insurance papers. And I guess you're looking at what happened. The owner of the Rockwood liquor store tells me this curb slopes down because they have a lot of loading and unloading of items for inside of their store. They're hoping to be reopened by tomorrow.
