We're launching a new segment today called totally Tallahassee and this week we go north on I 10 to see how one woman has been recycling the history of our community. Hi, welcome to secondhand Sandy's. Items you won't find on just any shelf because it isn't mass manufactured. There's nothing in here that you can buy two of because they're all one off Sandy Biggie says each bed frame, dresser and stove. I mean, how fabulous look at the history of this. Telling stories of generations past. People come in and they're It reminds me of my grandmothers or reminds me of my mom's. Sandy's been collecting antiques for more than a decade, but her love started when she was just a little girl. I'm the baby of eight kids. My mom was a single parent. We wound up thrift shopping all the time. It wasn't until she got older. She realized the value of having something no one else had. More treasures. Throughout secondhand Sandy's, you may find a piece that got a makeover or something brand new. This is bedrails. A piece to a leaf to a table and a piece of salvage from a home that we tear down had tore down. Sandy says she doesn'to her, these pieces still have a story to tell. I wonder how many families ate at that table. I wonder what kind of dinners they had on that table. What kind of conversations they had on that table.
