This should be done by a certified tire technician and doc Your certified American Tire Depot store will conduct a thorough inspection by performing the following inspection procedures on each of your vehicle's tires. Your American Tire Depot technician will first take a tread depth reading of all four tires on the vehicle. This will indicate the amount of tread life remaining on each of the vehicle's tires. You can check your tread life at home by using a penny. Place Abraham Lincoln's head facing down into the tread area. The tire technician will thoroughly inspect each tire by turning the tire one quarter turns and inspecting for irregular tire wear, cuts, bruises, nails, screws, and any other signs of tire defects or road hazard damage. If any problems are found, they will mark the area with tire chalk to highlight the problem found and note the issues on the American Tire Depot safety inspection form. If no problems are found with any of the tires, they will proceed to check the tire inflation and adjust the air pressure to the manufacturer recommended pressure for the vehicle. Once the tire inspection is complete, they will proceed to perform your tire rotation per the manufacturer recommendations. When the tires are removed from the vehicle, your certified American Tire Depot technician will do a visual safety inspection of your brake pad linings and your shocks. As you can see here, this shock is leaking fluid. After the visual safety inspection is completed, the tire technician will ensure torque your wheel lugs per the manufactured torque specs required for your vehicle. The wheel torque specs will also be doc The final process will include the American Tire Depot technician to check and adjust the air pressure and your vehicle'spare tire.
