About two months ago I did a review on the Motaz Tractionator GPS tire, this tire right here. I bought this tire for a couple of reasons. One, I wanted a tire that was quieter on this asphalt, a little less quieter than a knobby tire which is loud, which is supposed to be loud, and yet something that can still do well for me in the dirt. So I bought this tire because it's got two things going for it. One, it's a dual-direction type tire. You run it in one direction at the 5050 tire, turn it around, and it's a mostly off-road tire. I did a review of this tire, the GPS Tire, Motaz Tractionator GPS Tire, in the 5050 direction. You can see the link right up here, and take a look at it if you'd So now I'm going to turn around and run it in the mostly off-road side and see what the noise level is on asphalt, and how much better is it in the dirt. I'm going to use my trusty-dusty Rabaconda tire changer. It should take about 10 minutes to change this tire, and then we'll put it back on the bike, take it out for a ride, and we'll report back. Okay, we are in Lake Isabella, on the furthest east side of Isabella, and we're going to test out the GPS, the Motaz Tractionator GPS Tire. This is the tire that when you run it in one direction, it's a 5050 tire. When you take the tire off and swap it around, it's a mostly off-road tire. And now we're on this dirt road, the little sand up here, and not much, but enough. And we'll see how it does in the mostly off-road position. So let's give it a whirl. Yeah, it really grabs the dirt. A little better than the 5050 tire for sure. That's not bad. It does pretty good. Now this is kind of some light sand here. It's not bad. It hooks up pretty good. Okay, well that was just a little bit of run on sandy road. Duggin' good. Wasn't as good as the Motaz Tractionator adventure tire, but I would say for looking for a tire that you want to do well on asphalt, quiet, and then have some bite in the dirt, this is a great tire when you put it on the mostly off-road position. Okay, here we are on highway 178. And now let's check out this back tire on if it's very loud on the highway. Now this highway's kind of rough, so I don't know if it'll pick it up. We'll probably get through a smoother highway, but when the tire is on the 5050 side, It's not a street tire, but it's very quiet. Not going to annoy you at all. Now we're on the mostly off-road direction of the GPS tire. And I can tell you so far there is, But if you mount this tire on the, you mount this tire on the mostly off-road direction, and when you get in dirt, the traction is just simply better. So I'm very excited. So it does two things that I needed for the tire to do. One was give me a tire I can ride on street on asphalt, ride that 200-300 miles to get to where I'm in my camp and go riding, and then have a tire that will be adequate on dirt. A fire road two tracks, maybe a little sand. This tire mounted in the mostly off-road direction, I think will I'm an average rider, I'm not doing any single track stuff on this big old beast, but when I did have it in dirt, and I had it more in dirt than what I showed you on the video, it was really nice. It was good. If you're going to go on a trip where you're going to be a lot of sand, more aggressive trail riding, then you might want to switch to that adventure tire, motoc traction adventure. But for a bike that you want to travel asphalt on, get to your dirt road, have good traction, motoc traction or GPS in the mostly off-road position will be great for perfect. Motoc traction GPS on the twisties, here we are coming down 170 at the canyon, and again I'm an average rider, not going to go real fast. Let'see how this tire, again a rider By slide I'm probably in trouble. But I don't find any on this motoc traction or GPS, either the 50 direction or the mostly off-road, there doesn't seem to be any kind of issue, very nice. And by the way the tire is not loud at all. Tire is very quiet. Well I can't hear above the rattle of the engine I suppose. I know this is good, this is really good. My final conclusion of this tire, this GPS tire, the motoc traction GPS in the mostly off-road position is a perfect tire for my application. Definitely hooks up veteran dirt in the mostly off-road position. And for that if I was by this tire new, I would encourage you to start with it, and if you're right off-road at all, start with the mostly off-road direction. It looks kind of weird on the bike because it looks I'm telling you.
