Thanks. Well, employees at a Glenwood business say they were horrified after finding a couple unconscious and surrounded by needles in a parking lot. And they are upset there weren't more consequences for them. KTNC I-9 News reporter Macy Highland joins us live outside that business. And Macy, can you explain to us please what happened? Well, Matt Chyna, right here in front of me is the parking spot that a passerby spotted the couple in. And they were surrounded by needles And authorities did clean up the needles that surrounded them, but there was one let that the employees had to clean up themselves. This happened in the afternoon on Wednesday at Big B Tires in the Glenwood area. Employee Dawn Luna says she and the rest of the store were alerted to the situation by someone who had been walking by, who said they looked dead. Just a passerby who was walking, come running into the office and saying there's dead people out next to a car in your parking lot. University of Oregon Police and Eugene Springfield Fire responded to the incident. Luna says they cleaned up all of the needles and performed CPR before taking them to the hospital. She says they told them the couple would be back in a few hours for their car. Oh, no problem. They'll be back for that car. Imagine within a couple of hours and I was shocked by that, especially thinking that truly she looked I spoke to University Police to find out why these people had been able to leave the hospital without consequences. Police say they had been called to the scene simply to be support for life-saving measures and that was the priority at hand. We're not going to necessarily tag along and take somebody into custody in the midst of life-saving measures. MacGyver says that the situation had been presenting danger to the public or if there had been more evidence, they When the couple pulled away with their car, one more needle was left behind. Luna says she called multiple agencies, but no one would respond to pick it up, so she ended up having to dispose of it herself.
