I was sleeping under Go Raleigh bus station and I needed somewhere to go. I've been dealing with death all my life. My mom died when I was 11. I have three brothers that's gone. The mother of my son died five days after he was born. Once I found out about Raleigh Rescue Mission that I can have an opportunity here to have my son here with me. I was curious, At Raleigh Rescue Mission I am a child advocate. I work mainly with moms and children as well as dads and children. Before I came here I was struggling really bad. I'm working at a hotel making nine fifty an hour. Three children with no car and it honestly was the grace of God that I was able to make it. I did it for a while. I needed help from people who wouldn't judge. I was just ready to do something, I wanted a chance. It doesn't happen overnight when somebody becomes homeless. It's an over the time thing. Raleigh Rescue Mission works on every area of your life. All you gotta do is come here, stay focused, hold your head up, receive what's been provided. It's given me the skills to be able to make great that, to be a good hard working man. Managing my money, paying the bills, keeping my food on the table for me and my son. And it gives me more ability to uphold my responsibility as being a farmer. One of the programs that the Raleigh Rescue Mission has is up and running. And it's a program that trains you to run a half marathon. People Everybody's just b Each individual person and each individual child is brought to us by God. We're not just making small impacts, we're making huge impacts and long lasting impacts. It's not something that just changes today, it changes tomorrow and it changes the years to come after that. The impact that up and running has had on me is discipline, perseverance, will. It's a lot of hills to run up. You have to go to a place in your mind where you feel That brought me and my son back together and that really touched my heart. That's the help we need. I just can't wait to be a success story because I know I'm gonna make it. I know I'm gonna complete this program and I can't wait to tell everybody that this is what I have to do. Life has hills. The only way to get through it is to go through it. I have been through the storm and I feel And I can't wait to see it.
