FLIP Consignment

Well, we're shopping designer price tags and looking for deals. Check this out. Brand new Lucky Brand Jeans. It says $119 on the price tag, but you can get them here for $28. 98. That's a Mary Hantz Miss Cheap Price right there. If only they fit, that would be the deal. Wouldn'that be nice? We're at Flip for Women, as a matter of fact. Flip for Women on 8th Avenue South, and this is a really high-end store. You're not going to come in here and find an outfit for $20 or something But if you're looking for designer brands, a lot of them I'm not even familiar with. They're so high-end and designer, but that's the deal here. The prices are at about 70% off of what the original retail would have been, 50% to 70%. And then they sometimes mark things down too. So I'm always looking for the real deal, but people who want designer things, this is it. So how does this consignment process work? Well, consignors bring in their items, and you don't have to have an appointment. You can just show up, and they have, I don't know, almost 3,000 consignors in the lady shop, and they bring their things in, and if they accept them, they sell them, and you get, as a consigner, you get 40% to 60%, depending on what the item sells for. You want to see the most expensive thing in the store? It's really a collector's item. Well, it's a Chanel bag, and the price on it is $4,498. 98. But originally, I mean, its original retail would have been way over 5,000, and it is a collector item. Well, and it's one of those things that holds its value too. So the price to a Chanel collector is really reasonable. Well, that's just not going to be something I'm going to buy, but I'm going to be looking more for the things that have these special tags on them. This is a Tahari suit, and the original price on it was probably several hundred dollars. But here in Flip, it was $88. 98, but it has a special tag on it, and 75% off. So we are down to under the 20s. So that's an additional 75 over the regular Flip price. Right, exactly. So I mean, that's a really great deal for somebody, and of course it's a size 4, but whatever. That's okay, but they have your size as well. They do. They have sizes 0 up through 14 on the clothing, and a few things in extra large too. But I saw some of the shoes, some Chanel shoes that were $598. A lot of these shoes in here, I just think they don't look And this Tori Birch bag has the tag still on it, so it has never been used. That's $250, and certainly if you bought it new, it would be a lot more than that. Well this is, the Flip store, the Flip for Women is sort of the second incarnation of Flip for Men started about 12 years ago, and this is next door to it. So it's a great way you can come shop, and then if the man in your life can go over to the Flip for Men and find some things over there too. And they do have some terrific deals over there as well. We're on 8th Avenue South. It's a great place to go shopping.
