I'm Rick Holzbach and I serve as the director of retail for the Hanover and King William Habitat for H The Restore provides multiple opportunities in the community for folks to reduce the amount of usable product that otherwise would land in air, landfills. It also gives us the opportunity to offer to the community, and that's all people, usable product at a reduced price. And it is used solely for the purpose of providing safe and affordable housing to those in Hanover and King William. We are a retail environment, a thrift store, but we're focused heavily on building material, lightly used, good building material, home decor, furnis My name is Jeff Ertz and I'm a Habitat Restore volunteer, shopper and supporter. The reason that I support the Habitat Restore is because I believe in their mission. Their mission to build affordable housing for people that live in Hanover and King William County. The profits from my shopping go to build affordable housing for people that might not otherwise be able to afford such housing. From my life experience, I know that home owners Habitat Restore is a great place to find building supplies, pl There's two treasures that I value the most. They were treasured by the people that owned them first. And I just ran across them at the Habitat Restore. One was a Mic It was in brand new condition, although it was probably made 30 or 40 years ago. We treasure it, my grandc I know it lived a life before it came to the Restore, and it's certainly living a wonderful life now. The other item I found was a food shopper. It was, I cook as a hobby and for our church group and other groups. And I'm always on the lookout for kitchen appliances that are kind of unusual. And one day I was in the Habitat Restore and I bought a food shopper. And I paid, I t So when I got home, I looked it up on the internet and it's a food shopper from Northern New York made in 1840. It's an amazing piece of history and it's an amazing piece of culinary instr People will ask us where does our product come from? And we have two primary sources. Obviously, our corporate donors who are looking to reduce brand new inventory due to skew reduction or just changes wit But we also receive a lot of donations from the general public. Residential donations, people are doing remodels, people are getting new furnis They've just had a decor change. One of the t In addition to gently used product, we also have some corporate donors that support our mission. So These come from a grant from Dominion, Virginia Power. Their mission is to reduce energy cons So they have provided those to us. We sell those LED bulbs for a mere 99 cents a piece. We also have received a large donation from a local big box store of sanitary products, face masks, hand sanitizer dispensing mac With the recent COVID epidemic, we feel that's an opportunity here to provide other folks an opportunity to be safe.
