Frugal's was founded in January 2009. It is a family owned and operated store. We offer everything from clothing and household items to tools and furniture. Frugal's is successful due to our community support. We have received tons of donations and word-of-mouth advertising. By keeping our overhead low, we can pass on savings to our customers and help out the community. We are proud to have worked with several charities and non-profit groups including but not limited to Relay for Life, Mother's Against Drunk Driving, American Cancer Society, Heritage High School Cheerleading, Walland Elementary School, and Gatlinburg Screenfest Film Festival. Our claim to fame in Blount County is our clothing prices. All our clothes are sold for 50 cents each day and 1/2 price on Thursdays. Blue jeans, baby clothes, name brand items, all $0.25 each every Thursday. We also have buy 1 get 1 free books every Wednesday, and usually have weekly specials as well. We put out new items EVERY SINGLE DAY! Donations are accepted (and much appreciated). We are open Mon-Sat 9-6. Anything in good, clean, and working condition is welcome.
On t How are you? I'm good, thank you. So first of all, tell us exactly where you're located. We're downtown Bloomington, Perfect. And so you have, it's one big shop but it's kind of two sections. Yeah. Can you tell us about the different sections here? On t And on the other side is the clot We have a toy room back there. Upstairs we have a media room. Let'see, it's pretty big. We've got pretty much everyt I can say it sounds We do. That's awesome. Okay, and tell me how you came up with the names. I know there's a little bit of a story be Well, when I decided to open my daughter that's very clever with names and t So about a half an hour later she called me back and she said, how about Two Fru Gales? She kind of played on words and I said, I love it. So that's what went with and it's been four and a half years now. That was going to be my next question. How long have you been in business? Four and a half years. I was over on Hannah and Oakland for the first 15 months and then needed to grow and we moved downtown. We've been here about three and a half years. Okay, yeah, and t So you have a lot of stuff in here. T Do you have any sales or how does it work? Is everyt That's very interesting because we're un We have, I have no paid staff here. Anybody that volunteers in here also can put stuff in the store. So I do it that way to man my store basically. So and the other t So we have a lot of local artists in here that create different t So I rent booth space and yeah, so it's yeah, we have no paid staff. Okay, wow, that's cool. Can you give us your hours when We are open seven days a week, 10 to five and a couple other interesting little facts. We do take donations, anyt So if someone is needed, a family is needed clothes or whatever, they can come in and do a few hours and then we give them X amount of store credit and then they can purchase items for their families.
