New tonight, WHAS 11 news is on your side and tonight two big developments after the story we brought you last night here at 6 we promised to follow up. Here's what's happened. First, MSD did put up this new sign today pointing the way to the Louisville Thrift Store at 26 and market in the Portland neighborhood, which is hidden behind detour and construction signs after MSD had to suddenly shut down the roadway to repair a 146 year old sewer line. They said the construction could last into the fall. Owner John Scott told us that it had hurt his business so badly that he may be two weeks out from closing. He says the signs still need to be clearer though, but he's also stunned with what else happened after our story aired. Someone walked in with $1000 in cash to help him pay his utility bill. I've done things to help people, but I've never really asked for help before ever. And now that I am asking for help, people are really coming to help. It'so good to hear happening just right after our story aired yesterday. So can he get signs that are clearer and bigger that he's going to be able to stay open? Plus, we've learned of other acts of kindness helped to keep him open.
