Well, welcome to Next Step Ministry. I want to just welcome you as the director of Next Step. My name is John Harbert and it's a privilege to be here and to share about the ministry today. I was given the opportunity to come and take over the ministry when they were forming it. They had a vision to start a benevolence ministry here in Glasgow, Barron County area, and that it would be gospel centered, Christ centered. And I was really excited about that with my ministry background and had the opportunity to be And it's been an amazing journey of faith for me with all the t But what I wanted to do is just give you an overview of the ministry and what we're doing here in the old library building in Glasgow. And what we'll do is we'll start off with looking a little bit at the intake process where we receive people three days a week with crisis needs. So they'll come in with help for rent or utilities or food, whatever it might be, housing. We do receive a lot of homeless requests coming in. And we start off in that point of meeting them and trying to meet their needs in two ways, spiritually and physically. But we know the spiritual help we can give them is the most important. And then after we have an opportunity to get involved in their life and build a relations And we always want them to present that need to us first. So we do have a food pantry. And we just have a wonderful group of volunteers that are serving here. Many of them have been here for the entire six years. We've been in operation and we'll get a chance to meet some of them. And we also have a community store. And t But it kind of took on a life of its own when we got out that Next Step was beginning to build a community store. And the donations just became pouring in. And were very thankful for all the generous donations we've been receiving from the community. And the store has been instr So we're very thankful that the store has been successful. And we'll get a chance to meet some of the folks working in the store and in that process as well. We also are providing classes. We have one class we're emphasizing called Faith and Finances. And it's a class created by the Chalmers Center. And they are a large organization in the Northern States. And it's all Gospel centered. And they use the Word of God to build their curricul And that's been a great tool because many of the people coming in for Christ's need do return. And after we've seen them n And again, a great opportunity for all of our church partners to have volunteers involved in that class as we have allies come alongside of the participant in the class and help out. So these are some of the different t And it's been great to kind of introduce you to the Ministry. And we're thankful that you allowed us to come in and share our ministry with you. And we pray and hope that you'll have a desire to get involved. Thank you.
