The mission of Laurel Shelter, Inc. is to empower victims of domestic violence and sexual assault by providing victim services and to prevent violence by increasing awareness of the impact these victimization's have on all members of the community. In 1997, Laurel Shelter, Inc. opened to provide shelter and support services for domestic violence victims. In 1999 services to victims of sexual assault and/or abuse were added and Laurel Shelter, Inc. opened a Sexual Assault crisis center in the Edgehill Town Center. Thanks to generous donations, Laurel Shelter, Inc. was able to open the Thrift Store in 2003. We are dedicated to assisting victims of sexual assault and domestic violence. We are also committed to reducing incidents of domestic violence and sexual assault in our communities. To achieve our goals, Laurel Shelter, Inc. offers shelter, advocacy, education and support to survivors, legal support, and community education to foster awareness and identification of victims.
