Hi, I'm Leticia Barwick, current president of St. Vincent de Paul'st. Mary Magdalene Conference. For those of you not familiar with St. Vincent de Paul, we are a terrible organization that helps individuals and families with food, clothing, rent and assistance, utilities, pretty much whatever we are able to assist with in the local community. It's neighbors helping neighbors. Today I'm here to talk to you about upcoming events and how you can help us be successful. Our first event is our annual Turkey Tuesday drive. That's how the Tuesday before Thanksgiving, this year it'll be on November 24th and it's held at Baschia locations. St. Mary Magdalene was assigned the Baschia store at Higley and Elliott. We will be collecting turkeys, canned goods and monetary donations. This year is a little different. We cannot stand out there and ask for donations. So if you're able to come out to the Baschians and make any type of donation, the store can accept it for us. Any way you can help us that day, that would be great. Our next program is our annual adopt a family for Christmas. Now we unfortunately always have families that are in need to be adopted. What we desperately need is families, groups or individuals that can adopt these families. Now there are various ways that you can do this. You can adopt an entire family, a portion of a family and you can either go out and buy the gifts yourselves. You can give us a monetary donation and we go out and purchase these gifts. You can also give gift cards. These gift cards are used for families that are not adopted and specifically a lot of times these gift cards are used as the gifts themselves for teenage children. We run into a situation where people do not want to adopt teenage children that they need a Christmas to. So there are various ways you can do this and we can get creative and work with you. Our last program is the state tax credit. As a state recognized charity we are able to accept your tax dollars as through the working per program. Sorry guys, I got a little confused there. You can donate up to $400 as an individual, $800 as a couple. Now this is a win-win. You get 100% state tax credit and we are able to use those funds to help our local community and the needs that they have. Again it's win-win. If you have any questions on any of these programs you can call us at 480-209-9483. Again that n I want to thank you for your time. Thank you for your generosity. Our community thanks you. St. Vincent de Paul thanks you and our parish thanks you. I also want to acknowledge that I'm a very aware that you help out all year the entire community and not just through St. Vincent de Paul. I thank you for your generosity and your time. For those of you who are not aware St. Vincent de Paul has a donation box at the church annex and you are able to help us here around as well. Thank you for your time. God bless.
