I'm Betsy, I'm a former flight attendant and retired teacher. After working for my company for nearly nine years, the company did go out of business and so I began looking for another job and found that I enjoyed renovating and restoring furniture to a new creation and giving it a new life and a new home. And so that's what I've been doing now for several months and I'm fairly new to YouTube so Invite you to join me on my journey videos and or would Come along with me on the journey, the Furniture Reincarnation journey. And today we're going to be doing a chair that I've had for some time. It's more of an 80s style furniture but I love the colors in it and I love the pattern. I'm actually thinking about keeping it and not even flipping it. So tell me what you think when you see it and we're going to get started. So here's the chair we're going to be working with today. I really Green is my favorite color and as you can see it has a skirt on it. It's in really good shape. I think in the other video I mentioned looking for name brands and so as you can tell it's really pretty clean. I mean it looks So what we're going to be doing is cleaning it up. So I've already gotten a lot of dust and loose dirt hair off of it with this lint remover brush and also I've done some vacu So I think the first thing we're going to be doing for this chair is probably taking the skirt off of it. At first I was going to try to tack up the skirt of it and when I looked at it closer it looked So here we go. You can just stand, you can just pull, this should come off. This is actually my first one I've done This might be a little bit of a learning curve here. Just get it, if I get it in here to start with I'll have it. Yay, got it started. I'm just going to hope most of these sickles come out when it starts. Wee! Whew! Okay, two sides down. Wee! Whew! Okay, two sides down. Okay, finally got all of those off now. Just have to get the sickles out. What we're going to do is use the bissel over here and do some cleaning. So I will be showing you that. And everything's mixed up and ready to go so let's get cleaning. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. So we're all done with cleaning. We're going to let this dry for a while. And as you can tell it was pretty dirty. So while the chair's drying in the sun I took the opportunity to go ahead and on the legs use some Oat English. There were a few little scratches on there. So I did use the Oat English scratch cover and that seems to have done a good job. And here we have the final result. And if I was going to stage this I would take pictures of it But I wanted to let y'all have a look at what it would look So just some quick stats on the chair that we worked on today. I bought the chair for $12. 99 at Goodwill. And the first product that I used was a lint roller and the Bissell Pet Spot and Stain removal. And that I already had on hand and Oat English scratch and cover for Darkwood. So I had those on hand too but I guess if I had to say how much it cost for those products had I not already had them and the mount that I used probably I'd say to give a little leeway maybe $10 possibly. So all together the project was $22. 99. And for now I'm going to keep the chair I plan on using it upstairs in my bedroom. So I hope you enjoyed the furniture reincarnation we did today. And I hope you'll join me for future episodes of Furniture Reincarnation. If you'll just click And that way you'll never miss any episodes. You'll be notified and you'll never miss any episodes.
