The Good Neighbor Place is a non-profit Thrift Store whose proceeds go back towards the community. We also receive numerous donations from people who live in the city of Apopka that we either sell in our store or use it to primarily help the homeless in Central Florida. We operate in a small sky-blue house within a stone's throw of Kit Land Nelson Park. This building is on the east side of South Park Avenue, sandwiched between a church and a doctor's office. The Thrift Shop is the headquarters for where the community has the most important and the community has a place to see the community in and out. Once we have that foothold, we are able to identify the needs wit We have a lot of people who need t And I believe that if we're kind and loving to these people when they come through our doors, they will see a difference in us and they tell us that. They are very kind, they really try to help the customer. The first impression is that every time is very good, they are very nice, I they give us triple boxes, I just I came in here last October to buy some t I was so impressed with their mission and the the church has been very, very kind to me, helping me with t And it was how I actually found out about the thrift shop. And I just want to help out with other people and return what the church has done for me. Having a thrift shop, we're cemented wit We're there on a regular basis. We had one fella come in and we had a t I don't know what you would call it, but it would massage. But it was rubberized. And he asked me what price was. Well, I showed So I gave it to I found out he was homeless. And then I wished I had given it to But he said, I want to pay for it. It made me feel good that I could help He came in the next day and he said, I stayed dry last night. That kept Now that did my heart good. Every morning we have wors He wants us to serve. He calls us. And I think it's not until when we begin to actually be involved and being part of h Because of the experiences, the stories that come out of it opens you up to share your testimony, how God impacted your life to the person that you're coming to contact and then begin to see society, the needs that are found when you're working with society. It makes me feel good because I know I'm helping people. I mean, if people come in for food or come in for clot Very good. Very good because I'm helping people. I'm very happy to be here. I know the majority of the people by name and they know me and I'm at the register. I try to visit with them a little so they walk around and interact. I find t You're there. You're smelling it.
