Rockstar Tattoos

Hi, I'm Toni Maldonado and today we're going to pick 11 of the most iconic rock star tattoos. So let's get into it. Before I start I want to clarify that this list is based on my own personal taste. The most memorable rock star tattoos for me. I'm not saying that they are the best tattoos or they're even well done. I'm just saying that these tattoos caught my attention when I was a teenager and still remember them today. And in my opinion the most characteristic tattoos that he has are the Phoenix and the Shedding Skin. Two very original tattoos done in his head. The Phoenix was supposed to represent one year of sobriety. He wanted to wake up every day and remind himself how far it has become and how far it still has to go. And the Shedding Skin tattoo means that it was gonna shed skin and be the best man he could be and he wanted to start fresh. This Phoenix is not a very complicated piece of art but still very original. It really captures your attention. N Oly Scythe. Oly Scythe's iconic tattoo was the rose on his neck. That rose was very bright and in your face. For the time that tattoo was very revolutionary, at least when I'm from Spain. We didn't see much of that at the time. So every time we saw a rose on a neck or something similar it reminds us of Oly Scythe. N Mick Thompson. Mick Thompson is the guitarist from Slipknot and he has two iconic tattoos. One of them is the two Japanese kanjis and the other one is the seven, representing his n Anthony Kitties. Anthony Kitties is the singer for the Red Hall Chili Peppers and his back is adorned with a massive cubic native American Indian image. The back tattoo has several interpretations over the internet. The most common one is that it is an Inca Aztec Falcon. While a few claim is a Haida Thunderbird or a Toll Either way it's very memorable and I remember seeing it for the first time in the Give It Away video. N Axl Rose. The frontman from Gansan Roses has several iconic tattoos. But if I have to choose one it would be the logo of the alb That logo is very memorable and the fact that it got it tattooed it made it even better. N Marilyn Manson. The eyeball tribal he got in the 90s is very creepy but once you see it you can forget it. It was very iconic to me and very memorable. Also it got one on each arm making it symmetrical. N Travis Barker. Travis Barker from Blink 182 has loads of cool tattoos and is being tattooed by Cartoon, an iconic tattoo artist. But if I have to pick two tattoos those would be the radio on his stomach and the neck piece with the Marilyn Monroe and the racing flags. You don't see a portrait on the front neck area every day and even less in the early 2000s. N Kerry King. Kerry King from Slayer has a massive tribal sleeve and also a head tattoo done by Paul Booth. And let me tell you once I saw that tattoo I could never forget it. Tribals are not very common nowadays but it was so iconic back then that I would say it still holds up. N Tim Comerford. The bass player from Raid Against the Machine got a tattoo so ahead of his time that I thought he went crazy. Black work is very common nowadays but in the early 2000s it was not common at all. N Corey Taylor. The frontman from Slipknot, Ston Sauer and his personal project Corey Taylor got a tattoo on his chest done by Paul Booth. Mentioned before with Kerry King. The iconic moon and sun tattoo was supposed to represent the yin and yang of the struggle between light and dark in all of us. N Chester Bennington. If something screams iconic in my head are Chester flame tattoos. You see them and you think of Chester straight away. The first time I saw them they completely blew my mind and I wanted to get them myself. But then I realized they were special because he had them.
