Roc City Tattoo Expo

Another expo to tell you about as creative minds from around the world join together this weekend at the Double Tree Hotel over on Jefferson Road in Henrietta. Mikaela Schram reports from the 15th annual Tattoo Expo. At the 15th annual Rock City Tattoo Expo, the buzz isn't just coming from the tattoo machines. Over 200 artists from around the world in the U. S. , Canada, Europe and South America, they're in Henrietta to show off their craft. Dillon Tate of local shop Love Heat Tattoo has helped organize the expo since 2010. He says their focus is on the experience of the artists and those who attend. Most of the people we have here we make sure are very well rounded and even if they focus in one particular avenue of tattooing, they're more than capable of kind of stepping outside of that and doing something that's going to suit the client's needs. People can do more than look. If you're interested, some artists can do a tattoo on the spot. Tate adds that this event is not just for those who already have tattoos. This is kind of an ideal situation for somebody that's looking for their first tattoo because again you have access to a tremendous amount of artists all in one location, Beyond creating art to last a lifetime, the expo is about building a community.
