Royal Street Tattoo

Specializing in fully custom tattoos, from traditional to new-school and everything in between.

“CW Neese founded Royal Street Tattoo in July of 2007. He and Pony, CW’s first apprentice, brought it all together. Peter Anderson was the shop’s first apprentice, which he started doing not too long after the shop opened. Peter was a painter and a good friend of CW’s. A few months after the shop opened, Sean Herman started doing regular guest spots there. Sean had been friends with CW for a while, and was in constant communication with him during the opening of the shop. Soon, Sean would make Royal Street his home full time. Eventually Peter started tattooing full time, and the shop picked up two more apprentices, Drew Epp and AJ Ludlow. During this time the shop grew, and clientele grew. Eventually, Royal Street expanded to two locations, the original in Mobile, and the second location across the bay in Daphne. With the opening of the second location, Royal Street brought more people into the family. Through all of this growth, Royal Street’s purpose has remained the same, tattooing and to make a positive impact on our community. Royal Street has worked with multiple charity organizations including an auction to benefit the West Memphis 3. Currently, Royal Street is doing regular art shows, with a portion of the proceeds going towards various charities and groups, with the most recent going toward the Baldwin County Humane Society, a no kill shelter. Tattooing is always key to Royal Street, tattooing is what we live, breathe and sleep. It’s our everything. It’s exciting to see what will happen at Royal Street, the future is very bright.”

It's really hard, but it's really rewarding. And I think tattooers are probably one of the last true artisans in the world. We all kind of appreciate that and we all kind of have that mutual respect for one another as artists. And I think that with tattooing, it'something that you have to work for. It'something that you have to strive to better. I'm Pete and I'll work at Royal Street Tattoo.
