Tattoos have become part of American culture for a long time, but recently they have become more acceptable and mainstream. Tattoo artists When you think about arts and culture in Jacksonville, a tattoo artist may not be the first thing that comes to mind. At Solid State Art Studio in Riverside, we got a chance to see an artist at work. James Rennery is showcasing his talent to show art he creates every day. James got an early start to the world of tattoos. I started getting tattooed at a very young age and just kind of clicked. I knew it was for me. Each one has some type of story, some type of significance in some way, shape, or form behind it. With the wave of new tattoo shows on television, the industry has changed. People that aren't really into tattoos and they come into a shop, they think that's the experience they're going to get and that's not real. That's all fake. When James looks at the future of his industry, he hopes the artists get the credit they deserve. I want it to be more artists, not tattoo mechanics. So it will stand more as, you're just an artist. I don't want to be classified as just, oh, you just do tattoos. No, I do art. Jessica Duffy inside Jacksonville. You
