For traditional purposes, all of the adults here can be seen with black geometric tattoos on their bodies. But Lisa is by far the most decorated. It is not permanent and lasts just a few weeks, but they keep reapplying it on their skin to last a while. These unique tattoos are a source of pride for the Embeddas, setting them apart from the rest. In the past, they used ink as camouflage, but today, they used the tattoos for sunscreen and shampoo.
