Joshua's foray into body piercing began in his late teens/early twenties working in a studio with sub-par standards, questionable ethics, and a poor working environment. Shortly after meeting some large influences in the piercing industry who showed him what good work and great jewelry were, he put down the needle and vowed to take a step back until he could reboot his career properly. Although continuing to follow the industry and shadow piercers who he respected when possible, he did not take the plunge again until early 2013, where he completed a proper apprenticeship under Greg Zywocki in Toledo, Ohio; largely largely freehand techniques (no clamps required!). Within the first two months of being an apprentice, he gathered up funds and flew himself to Las Vegas to attend the 18th annual Association of Professional Piercers conference, completing 18 classes during the time he attended. Upon returning and completing his training, he worked with Greg for sometime until taking a break from life, traveling the United States and settling down again in Fort Wayne, IN. In 2015, he once again funded the trip to Vegas for the 20th annual APP conference, attended 14 classes, and found himself in a situation to bring industry standard jewelry to the city working with Grade A. During his time with this studio, he is proud to be the only piercer in the city to work exclusively with high quality, industry standard, American made implant grade jewelry, providing his clients with options they're not used to seeing (including a lifetime guarantee on the jewelry he uses). He continues his education shadowing fellow piercers when given the chance to keep fresh on new techniques, funds his way to conference yearly, and shows no signs of slowing down.
