Powerline Tattoo

My name is Evan Owen, owner of Powerline Tattoo in Cranston, Rhode Island. Got an awesome crew of guys here. Everyone that works here is definitely doing work that impresses me and motivates me every day, really pushes me forward. In my opinion, some of the best artists in the game. I opened this shop, kind of as a way for me to do my own thing with it. I've been tattooing about 10 years. Owning a shop has definitely been a challenge. I mean, it's been a dream of mine for a long time. I'm into realism, but I also will heighten the colors, focus a lot on complementary colors, loose, more expressive brushwork. When I first opened the shop about three years ago, it was myself and Jay Blackburn and Mike Lidoo. I've been here at Powerline for about three years. One of the original artists here, been tattooing on and off since about 2004. Anything bright, colorful, bold. I've been tattooing for a little over 10 years. A lot of that part time, because I'm a school teacher. So I teach high school art. I've been in this shop trying to find my way since we opened up. So it's really hard to pinpoint what style is. I think if I was working in another shop, I would be the color realism guy, but I'm surrounded by people that do it so much better than I do. I added Shane Baker to the roster. I just really Everybody's very motivated and all that. We kind of push each other. I tend to do a lot of pencil drawings, so I'm really kind of comfortable with Black and Gray Realism. Black and Gray of any kind, really. And I'd I added Jess Brennan to the roster. I do a lot of Art Nouveau, a lot of floral stuff. I don't know, I kind of just do my own thing. I don't really know if it has a quote unquote style. Mike Bossano has been with us for a little over a year now. Name's Mike Bossano. I've tattooed him about 11 years. Larry Dujusto is the newest member of the Power Line crew. My name is Larry Dujusto and I've been tattooing for about 15 years. I So, Evan was real selective about his staff. There were times when we had empty rooms because he didn't want to just hire anybody to come in and fill a seat and get bodies in. So he was looking for opportunities to get the right people. A very diverse group of people as far as artwork goes. I mean, we have people here specializing in, Coming into an environment It's awesome to be around such a great group of people that are just amazing at what they do and are so into it. Definitely feel right at home. Definitely has a good vibe. Definitely nice, easy to go in the shop. It's a powerhouse of a shop. We definitely enjoy what we do and we hope that every client that comes down enjoys their experience here.
