Pino Bros Ink

That's what Frank Pino Jr. said at a recent ribbon cutting for Pino Brothers, Inc. , a full service tattoo studio now open at 12 Taylor Street. Frank and his brother Dave are both WALF M natives. Their initial goal with Pino Brothers, Inc. was to help an artist back when tattooing became legal in Massachusetts. We started about 23 years ago in Cambridge by wanting to help another artist get going. Pino Brothers, Inc. thrived becoming an important hub in Cambridge's flagship body art scene. But these WALF M guys dreamed of opening a studio in their hometown. Because we're born and raised here, we have our kids in the school system. We own property here. The name of our band is WALF M, so there's a lot of pride when it comes to this city. Unfortunately, an expensive special permit process made it prohibitive. Last year, through advocacy from the Pinos and City Councilors, the city changed its body art regulations, allowing new businesses to open by right with only health department oversight. This is an enormous win for WALF M to have Pino Brothers here on Eclectic Moody Street in our downtown. The new tattoo studio is in a building that the family has owned since the 1980s. It's a small space, but designed to be welcoming. It's an intimate business, so you really got to have someone who is not only aware of all of the health codes, but also a bedside manner and charm and all the things that you want from that artist that is going to permanently change your appearance.
