Promenade On The Peninsula

So we are here at the promenade on the peninsula in Ruling Hills, Estate, California. Today in this episode of Alex's Adventures we're going to take a walking tour and see what this shopping mall has to offer. So here are the retail shops, restaurants, and entertainment and all the office spaces that is located here. As you can see this is an outdoor shopping mall. A brief history about this mall is that this didn't start off as an outdoor shopping mall, it was actually an enclosed shopping mall. This mall opened in 1981 as an indoor shopping mall. This mall was formerly named as the Courtyard, shops at Palos Verdes and Avenue of the Peninsula and now it is called promenade on the peninsula. The shopping mall used to have two major card store anchors. When this mall was opened it launched with Bullock's Wisher and the May Company. The May Company became Robinson's May and those two department stores, Macy's May Company, Robinson's May, left in the late 1990s before 2000 and as you can see we're about to head towards one of those former anchors which is now a movie theater. Those two department store anchors are no longer here. The closest mall to this shopping mall is the Del Ammo Fashion Center. You can see retail stores and here's a directory of the promenade on the peninsula. There's level one and level two. You can imagine the former anchors that would have taken up this place. Here are all the businesses and the shopping mall. Let's go up to the second level as we walk up to the escalators. As you can see here this mall went through many renovations. It started off with an enclosed mall and in the 90s when the two department store anchors left the roof was removed and renovated as an outdoor mall that we see here today. Here you can see at the bottom there is an ice skating rink which was popular when the mall was opened in the early 80s. Let's go up to the third floor which we'll see Regal Cinema a movie theater chain. This was formerly the Robinson's May anchor of the mall. You can see rolling hills. The geography of this location or the shopping mall is that this is secluded from the rest of LA area. This area is secluded from the suburbs of LA County. This is inside an affluent rich community in LA County. Here you can see all three floors of the mall. On the first floor of the mall you can see a gap. One of a couple of retail stores that are still operating at this location. I would say that this is a dead mall. Having to come here for a stroll and I can say that there's not a lot of fit traffic. This is definitely a dead mall in my personal opinion. Here you can see other retail spaces here. Here's the ice skating rink that is not open at this moment. Here's the parking structure that I get to park. If you can see through the window you can see Ruby's diner in this restaurant. We're about to go up the escalator. This mall is not as busy as the Dell ML Fashion Center. The Dell ML Fashion Center in Torrance, California is connected with roads. As I said, this is a pretty separate area. This is more of a secluded area. People that frequent this mall is probably the local residents that live in this affluent community of LA County. The neighboring cities in this area is Ranchos Palos Verdes, Rolling Hills Estates, and Torrance, California. In here we are back at the parking structure. This shopping area is secluded since were on the hills, the peninsula, probably the bottom tip of LA County. Here's a Polo Inca Peruvian restaurant.
