Panorama Mall utilized the start of the holiday shopping season to announce their recent $1. 2 million dollar center upgrade. On the exterior, deteriorating entrance doors were replaced by new doors. Inside the mall, outdated park-hoe floors were replaced by modern tile floors. The upgrade also included new marble table tops, landscaping and seating areas. Panorama Mall held a press conference on Thursday, November 23, 2005 to inform the community about recent and planned center upgrades and scheduled weekend activities. Council member Alex Padilla, Nancy Hoffman-Vanier, Robert Scott and Chris Fakis were among the guest speakers. Over 50 chased elementary school students entertained guests with holiday songs and guests and merchants were also treated to the soothing sounds of mariachi chapala. The celebration continued with family events from Friday to Sunday. Over 350 people attended the Friday concert featuring orchestra charangola. 450 people participated in Saturday Santa arrival, featuring Radio Disney, Paso de Oro Dance Company and a greeting card workshop by the Children's Muse Sunday's event with K-Love 107. 5 FM attracted over 350 people. The event featured K-Loves DJ Carlos Alvarez and Station mascot El Corazon Cito. In addition to radio station giveaways, Walmart, Verizon Wireless, KB Toys and Small World donated gift cards and merchandise for the weekend events. Participating merchants reported increases up to 40% for the event days. Panorama Mall made the front page of the business section of the Daily News on November 19 and was featured in the local section on November 22. K-Buenatv on K-R-C-A62 also featured the Panorama Mall the entire week. Telamundo featured Panorama Mall in their holiday security tips news feature. Mall traffic increased 10% for the week of November 11 and Panorama Mall ranked fourth company-wide in traffic increases for the week. The day before Christmas was the big day. November 19 is the big day before Christmas. It's when Santa arrives at Panorama Mall. First, the Paso de Oro Dance Company performs a folklorico show. Then Santa and the elves lead a parade up the Santa sleigh. Kids can get pictures with Santa and the Los Angeles Children's Muse Santa arrives November 19 at Panorama Mall. The fun starts at 11 with Radio Disney Live and at once Santa arrives with tons of fun and tons of real snow. They get snow too. Okay now I'm officially jealous.
