The Shops at Fallen Timbers is a retail lifestyle center in the city of Maumee, Ohio. The mall opened in October 2007 with three anchor stores (J.C. Penney, Dillard's and Barnes & Noble).HistoryGeneral Growth Properties first conceived the idea of a mall in Maumee, Ohio in the mid-1990s. Initially, the mall was to have been an enclosed project, but in 2003, the company decided on building a lifestyle center. Stores that were proposed to open at the mall included Sears, Galyan's, Kaufmann's and Parisian. In October 2007, the mall opened for business with Barnes & Noble, J.C. Penney and Dillard's, the latter of which moved from two stores at nearby Southwyck Mall, as its anchor stores. Two months later, Showcase Cinemas opened a multiplex theater complex at the mall. Upon opening, the mall included several tenants new to the Toledo market, such as P.F. Chang's and White House/Black Market.
Hi, my name is Pete Souter. I'm the co-founder and CEO of Shirley's Gourmet Popcorn. We're here today to introduce you to our new store. We're at the shops in Fallen Timbers in Ma We're hoping to open in the first couple weeks of September 2014, which is just a couple weeks away. So let's go inside and see what it's all about. Music Okay, so here we are inside our new store. We'really excited to be here. This is kind of an insider's view. So as you look around, you can see that there'still more work to be done. This is about a 1200 square foot facility. The colors and design match our flagship store down in Bluffton. And that's all part of our franchising program. We want all the colors and systems and models and vendors to match from store to store. And so we're thrilled with the design and build out of this new store. As you come in, once we're open, you may find one of our associates popping popcorn or turning it into caramel popcorn. Here in the back of the store, we're going to have a great production viewing area where our associates will be drizzling chocolate over it and making it a really great product for you. And so you can watch that process as it happens. We have a great display area. We're going to carry 12 to 14 different flavors of popcorn at all times. So as you come in, someone may be making popcorn or caramelizing it. Another associate may be visiting with a wedding customer. We do lots of weddings and popcorn bars for organizations. Someone else might be visiting about a fundraiser. We have a great fundraising program for schools and organizations, soccer clubs, gymnastics. Or we might be visiting with a corporate client about some co-branding opportunities. So we want the customer to be a co-creator, and that's what Sheryl is all about. So thanks for being with us today and watching this fun video. We look forward to you stopping in the store. Our goal is to open by September 1st or shortly thereafter. And so once we're open, stop on in. We're going to have lots of great events and great deals. And so stop by and say hi.
