Today was the last day for Fayetteville's Dogwood Festival. The annual event attracts hundreds of thousands of people and brings millions of dollars into the local economy. CBS, North Carolina's Nate Rogers was at the festival and has this story for us. Downtown Fayetteville was THE place to be as nearly 250,000 people attend the 35th annual Dogwood Festival. We love it every year. We always have a good time. This is his second time coming and the first time he's ever in Carnival Rides. So he was Were just walking around seeing people, meeting people and running old friends we hadn't seen in a while. Festival organizers called this year's event bigger and better. $4. 5 million is expected into the local economy from patrons. And talk about food, there were so many options. We had some Philly cheesesteaks and some sausage and his favorite thing's been the slushies. The slushies. For kids, the festival had many attractions including face paint and lots of games. It was Zoe's first time attending. Tell me some of the things that you're doing. Well, we're playing games and we're about to go get candy and stuff. It's fun. The festival included more than 200 vendors, new this year, an extended footprint which stretched along Hay Street, several blocks of merchandise for people to enjoy. The Dogwood Festival this year also included three stages for live music. But unfortunately, all of the fun ends today. But guess what? They will be back next year on the same time, definitely the same place. In Fayetteville, I'm Nate Rogers, CBS North Carolina.
