I'm Dan from the Backyard Barbecue Store. During t So I'm here to tell you a little bit about the big green egg. They call it the world's greatest grill slash smoker and that is because you can cook a 250 or 225, whatever you want, for an extended period of time and smoking here. You can also get it up to 700, 800 degrees if you want to see your steaks, do pizza, things You can grill and smoke on it. This depends on how much airflow you allow into it, which I'll tell you a little bit about in a second, but there's ways to regulate the heat and you're going to use natural l So it actually burns very efficiently when you restrict the air, but also when you open it wide open, it will actually burn extremely hot. What I love about the egg is today, inside you want to have ribs. So you've seen a rib recipe, you're going to cook a 250. You will open up the egg, take out the cooking grate, put in your charcoal, light it. If you're going to smoke, you put a couple of wood chunks on top of that. Get the, There is a piece called the convector, w So that's a large egg set up here. You could probably get 20 hours out of one load of charcoal at 225. So that is the smoking set up. So say if you want to do pizza, you could put a pizza stone on here now and you're just going to open t It'sitting in what's called a nest. We have a bunch of different setups. These are called egg mates. They pop up when needed to put a couple of platters on. We also sell tables, modular nest tables. T We do sell a lot of excels also, but in every setup it has its own little price obviously and different package, different way to do it. We do include the convector in our packages, we include charcoal, wood chunks and fire starters. We do hold classes here, w A few weeks ago I did kind of an advanced egg class for some recipes with cast iron skillets. We did some reverse searing of steaks, some different recipes that you would do as you get kind of used to it. Don't be intimidated by the fact that it's charcoal. If you haven't used charcoal in a long time, it's fairly easy to use. Learning about the airflow, the more air you induce, the hotter it gets. There's a draft door at the bottom. The wider open it gets, the more airflow, the hotter it's going to get. So there'some t I would say don'take it home and get started with a $200 piece of tenderloin. You want to try maybe a $6 pork tenderloin. It's got to be much better that way. You can mess around with the temperatures, the different settings, so you can see how it works when you get home.
