News now at 9 for CBD oil users in the Ozarks earlier this week. Great Southern Bank told the shop CBD of Springfield it'll stop soon, it'll soon stop doing business with the store. You have the news leader reporting tonight the CBD shop got a letter from the bank saying quote, due to the elevated risk associated with your account activity, we have determined that it is in our best interest of Great Southern Bank to close your bank accounts. This is due to your business being a marijuana related business. The bank will close the shops to bank accounts in late September. A spokesperson for Great Southern says the issue stems from the inconsistency with state and federal laws. Regulated banks must be compliant in both. The bank says it has not taken a moral stance against marijuana related products. It's also unclear right now whether CBD oil is legal and can be regulated in Missouri. The store's owners however took issue with the account closure. Co-owners Emily and Chad Christiansen say they only sell hemp, not marijuana, and do not sell items They also say they are 100% a clean business. And their story is not the only local cannaminoid shop to face some problems recently. CBD boutique on West Carney opened in Springfield after Buffalo City leaders shut down the company's original location there back in mid-May.
