The Old Capital Farmers Market is one of Springfield's favorite downtown traditions. Okay, you're welcome. Pick them around now, good luck. I'm gonna get our kids a piece of corn if I try. Well, we guarantee everything we sell, so. . . Okay, let'see. Okay, I've got a good map. Okay, thank you very much. Our vendors are extremely conscientious about where the products come from. They're very proud of what they grow and raise and make. It's our long-standing commitment to quality, the variety of what we offer, produce, meat, cheese, baked goods, and a lot of variety of other things as well. So you can come down here and have a meet and greet with the vendor and learn about where the produce came from or how the product was made. These should be all right. Okay. Beautiful. A lot of nice vendors. It's a really nice setup. It's easy to get around, so that's nice. I was able to find all the stops that I wanted to make. The prices are definitely better. Thank you very much. And you get a better selection. The food seems to be a lot more fresh than what you would find in a grocery store. I You get to talk to the people who grew the food so I know you're a big soup maker. Oh, yeah. I always come see you. I love coming here for the fresh strawberries and asparagus and seeing the farmers and getting fresh produce. People are starting to take care of themselves better and eating better. And the farmers market is just a wonderful opportunity for the farmers to bring their produce to the general public. And it's just you're buying local. The money'staying here in Springfield. It's just a good thing. It's putting our people to work. There's a big movement in our country right now to buy local. We have a market token program which you can use link debit or credit cards to purchase market tokens. The tokens are $1 each and so they spend just Here you go buddy. Have a good day now. Hi buddy, how are you? A lot of these vendors have long standing relationships with their customer bases. They come back week after week, year after year and that's the difference. That's what sets us apart from a grocery chain. Yes, you can have a donut. I want some chocolate. Yes. We've been coming to the market for ten years. We started bringing our dogs to when they were puppies and now they're twelve year old. And now we have kids and we bring our kids. There you go. I wish it was larger. I wish it lasted longer. But I enjoy every month of it and I'm glad that Springfield's off of it. There you are. Thank you. Thank you. Have a good day. Economic studies have shown and proven that when you implement a farmer's market in an area or a corridor that might need some boosting, this is what works. Farmers markets are economic drivers for downtown areas as well as economic resources for the vendors themselves. So it's a win-win for our community. I think it's important to have products here that are healthy and good for you. And being able to, I think it's really important to be able to purchase products from your neighbor. And that's important to me. Because we've got the farmers around here that grew it, bring it to us and we know where it came from. All of the vendors are local farmers or local business people or whatever have you so I'm sure that's pretty helpful as well. And a lot of these vendors have long-standing relationships with their customer bases. They come back week after week, year after year and that's the difference. That's what sets us apart from a grocery chain. We have over 60 vendors on our roster throughout the season. We go May through October on both Wednesdays and Saturdays. So there's plenty of shopping days throughout the season. Come down to the farmers market. Alrighty.
