Hi, I'm Ben Garrison and welcome to another Around Town video. I'm excited today to be with Ben Sam and at Kitchenella Mode where you're going to find everything you need for cooking and entertaining. And now, let's take a look. Hi, welcome to Kitchenella Mode. Come on in. Hi, my name is Ben Sam and I'm the owner of Kitchenella Mode in downtown South Orange. We have the great fortune of being named best kitchen store in New Jersey three years in a row by New Jersey Monthly, something that I'm really proud of. But I looked downtown and I said this would be a perfect place for a kitchen store and it would do so well here. I knew that if I didn't do it, somebody else would. I ended up being a bit of a bold move as I opened up two months before the economy fell in 2008. But luckily we're here and stronger than ever. I saw these great lily pad bowl covers and when I left out them they're so easy to put on but look at that fantastic seal. These fantastic bags replace the block bags. They're made by a mom out of West Orange and the only store in the country that's carrying them right now. What I love is that they're manufactured in New Jersey but even the interior piece, this material is proprietary is made in New Jersey itself and they are dishwasher safe and hold up so well. We actually carry over a hundred different styles of aprons from our butcher cut aprons to our diva aprons. I got at least eight different trade shows a year all over the country to find the best items that I've been find. I love the Polish pottery. It's made in a family owned factory in northern Poland. It's been around for over a century. It is dishwasher safe, microwave, oven and freezer so you can use it to decorate. You can also serve any kind of casserole in it. Sometimes restaurants apply does it best. I love these German made glasses. You can't really find them retail a lot but they are really made for restaurants and if they can hold up in a restaurant they can definitely hold up for you. What I love is that they are toughened glass and my best demonstration of that they really hold up nicely. Knives are truly one of our specialty. I carry over a hundred and fifty different knives in the store and we really do sell them all a la carte. I love Lampson and Goodnow which is made in Shelburne Falls, Massachusetts and it's actually the oldest continuous manufacturer of knives in the US. We have Wustaf from Germany. We have Mercer. We have these beautiful olive wood handles and you can combine them together to make whatever set that is personal to you. I'm a resident South Orange and I just love South Orange and Mayfoyd and I feel so lucky to be living and working in the same community. If we didn't have such a wonderful community we wouldn't still be in business. There's just no question in my mind. Thanks Ben for stopping by and I hope you all stop by to see us the next time you're in South Orange, New Jersey.
